I’ve always had an eye for video editing and content creation! When I was younger I used to make mini videos for my parents using iMovie, burn them on a DVD and give them as gifts during the holidays. I can say that I’ve come a long way from iMovie. The following are my visual interpretations using a collection of videos and concepts.
Unless stated, I am not affiliated with any of the brands or people involved in the following videos. None of these are paid partnerships or promotions. These are strictly projects to sharpen my skill and share my creative ideas.
“I Refuse To Be Denied”
If you didn’t know, I’m a huge basketball fan. Even before I started playing at the collegiate level, I always wanted to work in the world of sports at some point in my life. I dreamed of creating content for Nike, the NBA or the WNBA in some way shape or form. Until that day comes, I’ll celebrate my love for the game by creating videos! This was the first video I created after a two year hiatus from editing. During the time of this video, I was going through a lot of self doubt about my career. I was working for an abusive boss who paid his employees little to nothing. I was listening to motivational speakers on YouTube, when I came across Les Brown. His speech spoke to me which is why I used it as the main vocal point of the video. I used his speech to draw a parallel between the highs and lows of basketball with challenges and triumphs that happen in life.
“Forms of Intimacy”
Twice a month, my boyfriend and I assign editing challenges as a way to sharpen our skills and knowledge of the techniques and programs. For this challenge we had to display “intimacy” using a select group of videos.
A window into a woman’s mind is opened and we watch what she feels in the form of dreams and flashbacks. She experiences many forms of intimacy within herself and with others. Can you spot the different forms of intimacy?
